Behind the walls

It seems like its taken so long to get here and came so fast all at the same time. I had the opportunity to go to Leo Chesney womens prison for a time of what was suppose to be observation. Circumstances changed, as they so often do, and I actually got to teach. Well, I had planned to go in and just teach...but...as I relized that approach was not going to be a good thing, I switched gears and instead testified about what God has done in my life, how great God is, and the value God places on women. I'm in awe when I stand back and look at how God will lead us and move right into a situation. As I talked about how much God loves us/them, how valuable we are to God, how God used Mary, Ruth, Tamar, Bathsheba and Rahab, all women with assorted personalities and past, some walking forward after committing unspeakable sin, how He used them in mighty ways, the tears started to flow. Even the ones who made it clear that the only reason they came to bible study was to get them out of their room, they even had tears running down their face. I left confident that those women felt God. I'm looking forward to going back and seeing what God will do behind the walls.

I'm very grateful that we serve a God that allows us to make choices. No matter what situation or circumstance we find ourself in we have a choice how we would like to respond to it. I have a great life and I want God to know that I'm thankful for it. I have an awesome home life, friends, family and so much opportunity that it astounds me. I serve a great God!!
